Crested Butte, renowned for its stunning landscapes and vibrant community, has long embraced the arts as a cornerstone of its cultural identity. Local initiatives like the Crested Butte Creative District and the ‘Wheels of Intention’ project exemplify how art can foster community connections and enrich our shared experiences.

‘Wheels of Intention’: Interactive Art in the Heart of Town
The ‘Wheels of Intention’ project is a kinetic, interactive art tour consisting of eight wheels mounted in and around Elk Avenue. Each wheel, designed by local artists in collaboration with non-profit partners, focuses on community-centric themes. This public art tour aims to educate, inspire, and highlight our connections to our mountain environs, each other, and ourselves. Visitors are encouraged to pause, reflect, and think about our place in this vast universe. Explore the Wheels of Intention.
Building Community Through Art
These initiatives demonstrate the power of art to bring people together, spark conversations, and strengthen community bonds. By engaging with these projects, residents and visitors alike contribute to a shared cultural experience that defines Crested Butte’s unique character.
As we continue to support and participate in local art initiatives, we not only celebrate our town’s creative spirit but also ensure that the arts remain a vital part of our community’s future.
